We'll walk you through your first build on the grid — place a wall, rotate it, add a floor, ruin it, then export. Takes about a minute. (Or just describe what you want — the Describe it button, key G, builds a whole room from a sentence.)
Type a sentence, or fill in the form — both build through the exact same Room Wizard placement code, so anything that would overlap or fall off the grid is skipped and reported, never force-placed.

Pick which tile types the STL and fused exports below include. Unchecked types are skipped by both.
Just the placement data as JSON — no geometry. Always free, reopen it any time.
Your first exported piece (the selected tile, or the last one placed) is full-quality and free. After that, unlock the Gothic pack.

Merge every placed tile into one watertight STL — handy for a display print or a resin plate. Uses the same free-piece gate as STL export above.
One glTF/GLB file with every tile, positioned and coloured — drop it straight into Foundry, Tabletop Simulator or any VTT. Always free.
No printer needed — we print your exact layout in Melbourne and ship it. Get an instant estimate from the pieces you've placed, then send it to us.

Describe a room and the walls, floors, doors and hero pieces land on the OpenLOCK 25.4 mm grid — support-free, ready to print.
Your saved build
Heavy building is easier with a mouse, but the editor runs here too. Formada3D, Melbourne · OpenLOCK Compatible
Formada Terrain Builder is a free browser tool for tabletop wargaming and RPG terrain. Lay out gothic ruins on a 25.4 mm grid, add floors, columns, rubble, stairs and two-storey walls, ruin them with one click, then export support-free STL files for your 3D printer or have Formada3D print the layout for you in Melbourne.
Designing, saving and sharing layouts is free, and your first exported STL piece is free. The full Gothic pack is A$9.99 (was A$24.99) and single tiles are A$1.59 (was A$3.99) as STL downloads from the shop; print-to-order is by quote.

Bambu P1S, plain PLA, no supports — the plate export as printed. More on the terrain page.

Yes. The Room wizard (key O) — drag a rectangle on the grid for four walls with auto-corners, plus options for a doorway (and which side), windows every N pieces, a flagstone floor fill, a second storey and a ruin pass. Wall run (key W) drags a straight, axis-locked wall with end caps in one go. Click a placed wall a second time to cycle it through straight → doorway → window → ruined (or use the Cycle button in the inspector). Both wizards commit as a single undo step.
Yes — Describe it (key G, or the button in the top bar) turns a sentence like "L-shaped room 8 by 6 with a bell tower in the corner, 1 door on the south and 2 windows, lightly ruined" — or a footprint in cells/cm/inches typed into a form — into a full build: walls, corners, doors, windows, floor, a hero piece and a ruin pass, all through the same placement engine as every other tool, as one undo step.
No. Every tile in the library prints support-free: walls stand on end, floors and rubble lie flat, columns stand upright. The export modal shows the orientation and a plate-packing preview.
Yes. Formada3D holds an OpenLOCK commercial licence issued by Printable Scenery. Tiles sit on the OpenLOCK grid and every wall end and floor edge carries the official OpenLOCK click socket, so the standard Printable Scenery clip snaps in.
Any FDM printer. Bed presets for the Bambu Lab A1 mini (180 mm), P1S/X1C (256 mm) and H2C (350 mm); larger layouts are split across plates automatically.
The editor and the Gothic ruins set are complete — most wall pieces ship in both a weathered and a clean finish now (the Weathered/Clean toggle above the library) — but the tile library is still growing weekly and a few features (more sets, drag-move) are still landing. Layouts you save now keep working after launch. Watch the library panel for a "New this week" ribbon when fresh tiles land.
